Personal, Social and Health Education and Citizenship (PSHE & C)

We aim to provide information to children through the whole curriculum and in units of work to promote the development of a system of values and of a healthy lifestyle.  Children are taught knowledge, skills and understanding to help them:

Sex and Relationship Education

We revised our policy for Sex and Relationship Education in 2002.  Parents were consulted as part of the review.

Parents can withdraw their children from all or part of sex education except those elements taught as part of science.  Arrangements can be discussed with the Headteacher.

Our policy integrates with and complements most of the general aims of the school.  All moral and sexual educational is given in such a way that the child is valued and values himself/herself in the wider world in the context of the family and community in general.  The policy is delivered as an integral part of PSHE and Citizenship.

Provision for Arts

To enrich the curriculum and promote children’s creativity we provide a wide range of arts activities which vary from year to year.

We believe the Arts play an an important role in developing individuals creativity, motivating pupils and providing a broad and balanced curriculum. Wherever possible teachers plan cross curricular activities.
