Gifted and Talented Children
We provide demanding levels of learning to the gifted and talented pupils in our school, showing awareness of their needs by setting a challenging curriculum through differentiated planning, a range of teaching strategies, setting and grouping in certain subjects, enrichment activities and resources.
We have adopted the definition of gifted pupils as those with general all round ability and talented pupils who have ability in one or more specific areas.
The school has a policy for Gifted and Talented Pupils available for parents to see if they wish. A Gifted and Talented register is kept by the co-ordinator and up dated regularly. The policy explains arrangements for identifying gifted and talented pupils, which is done through a range of sources, and provision for pupils.
