Religious Education & Collective Worship
The Religious Education given in school is based on the Local Education Authority Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education.
We aim to develop children’s knowledge and understanding of Christianity and to give them some knowledge of other religions. Through their Religious Education, we aim to enhance children's own spiritual, moral, cultural and social development.
We aim to help children reflect on their own beliefs, values and experiences and to develop a positive attitude towards other people and their right to hold different beliefs.
We have daily acts of Collective Worship, which are mainly of a Christian character though not distinctive of any particular denomination.
Mr. Mike Willis of Crusaders and Rev. Rev. Lorna Beadle of the Holy Sepulchre Church, come regularly to take Collective Worship. Other visitors occasionally come to conduct Collective Worship.
Parents who wish to withdraw their children from RE lessons and/or daily Collective Worship should discuss arrangements with the Headteacher.
